This project featured an innovative type of artificial turf surfacing that looks and plays like real grass, a new track surface with drainage system, new bleachers, electrical service for the high-mast lighting, a new press box, and an electrical service on the field. Americans with Disabilities Act compliant access ramps and general site grading were adjusted to accommodate the 2006 National Veterans Wheelchair Games.Anchorage, AK

This multi-phase project began with determining the feasibility of developing the west end of the Park Strip. The site was analyzed for access, land use requirements, utility connections, and grading impacts. The subsequent design overcame challenges associated with development on a steep embankment, including detailed grading, five retaining walls, and an on-site infiltration system.
Location: ANC, Anchorage, AK
Land surveying, civil, and site design were provided for a new Alaska Airlines hangar. The project successfully overcame the challenges of relocating storm water force mains, modifying lease boundaries, and designing airplane parking and maneuvering as well as vehicle parking arrangements. The hangar, designed for the new 797 Max aircraft, is the first of its kind in Alaska.
Location: Anchorage, AK
Civil planning, design, and construction management services were provided on this design/build power plant expansion project, including surveying, retaining wall design, grading, drainage, water and sewer main extensions and services, and connecting to the Eklutna Water Energy Station. Municipality of Anchorage Building Safety Department permitting support was also provided.
Location: Anchorage, AK
Due to tidal erosion around the Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility effluent tower, a new erosion-control structure was constructed around the structure. CRW provided a pre-construction topographic and hydrographic survey, mean high tide determination, final as-built, and Record of Survey for the amendment to the existing easement required to encompass all offshore improvements.
Location: Anchorage, AK
During active airport operations, CRW surveyors provided an as-built of the existing striping, aboveground structures, jetways, and utilities for a redesign of the apron area and markings to accommodate new and larger planes. After the design phase, CRW was contracted to lay out the new apron striping during active loading and unloading of aircraft.
Location: Anchorage, AK
CRW provided planning and design of pedestrian and transit improvements along Providence Drive, including an analysis of transit stops, crosswalks, and mid-block crossings. Challenges included limited right-of-way and numerous utilities. The improvements included Americans with Disabilities Act compliant amenities, transit stop furniture, pedestrian-scale lighting, overhead flashers for pedestrian crossings, and curb ramps.
Location: Anchorage, AK
Rehabilitation of this mile-long section of trail to improve safety and connectivity involved the replacement of four pedestrian bridges, flood plain boardwalks, construction of a large retaining wall, and upgrades to the illumination system.
Location: Anchorage, AK
Improvements to bring this two-mile-long section of hillside road to Municipality of Anchorage collector standards and provide a safer road corridor involved engineering investigations, public involvement, permitting, utility coordination, surveying and mapping, transportation planning, and multiple stream-crossing designs. Also included were extensive drainage improvements and entire road surface pavement overlay.
Location: Anchorage, AK
CRW evaluated the condition of the Wonder Park Subdivision utilities and provided design documents to replace 2,600 feet of severely corroded water mains with PVC pipe, including all fire hydrants and water services. The water mains were located within the streets and required the removal and replacement of existing roadway improvements.
