he Kaktovik (Kaveolook) Replacement School Project is restoring a critical community asset following the catastrophic fire that destroyed the original school in January 2020. In partnership with Burkhart Croft Architects and the North Slope Borough, CRW is supporting the phased development of a new, modern school and gymnasium by providing comprehensive civil, structural, and survey design and construction support services. CRW designed the site layout, including groundwater containment walls; thermosiphon and structural pile foundations for the building; on-site fuel storage and piping; and utility connections for water, sewer, and heat-recovery systems.
