Inlet View Elementary School

Location: Anchorage, AK

CRW performed the survey and civil engineering for the Inlet View Elementary School project, which is currently under construction. One feature of interest is the Bulb Out (with a raised crosswalk) at the pedestrian crossing. The Bulb Out increases pedestrian safety by reducing the crossing distance and improving sight distance. Two lanes could result in one of the vehicles blocking the sight distance of the other vehicle, which is why one lane is preferred. Photos courtesy: Cornerstone General Contractors
