Bright People: The CReW Expands


CRW Engineering Group, LLC hired six new employees, expanding our structural, mechanical, and administrative groups. We welcome the following recent additions to the CReW!


Charles Bergeron, EIT joined CRW’s Mechanical Group in September 2017. He has three years of Alaskan engineering experience and has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from UAF. Since coming to CRW he has worked on HVAC projects at Rogers Park Elementary School, Matanuska Valley Federal Credit Union, and the Matanuska-Susitna Borough Dorothy Swanda Jones Building. 


Margaret “Jake” Osselburn joined CRW’s Administrative Group in November 2017. A professional with 19 years of experience, she is an expert at helping an office run smoothly. With time spent in the financial and oil and gas industries, sports management, counseling, and the U.S. Embassy in Thailand, she brings a breadth of knowledge to CRW.


CRW’s Structural Engineering Group expanded in November 2017 with the hire of Nicholas Choromanski, PE, SE. A Senior Structural Engineer, he has 11 years of experience creating structural designs in Alaska. A lifelong Alaskan, Nick holds a B.S. and M.S. in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis from UAA. Prior to CRW, he was a Principal at Schneider Structural Engineers, serving as their Region Manager for the Anchorage office. His broad experience includes numerous projects for the Department of Defense, such as the F-35A Simulator at Eielson AFB, and private developments, including the CIRI Headquarters Office Building. He has also designed K-12 and higher education facilities, most recently the seismic renovations to the Romig Middle School and West High School Library, as well as rural developments around the state. Actively involved in the Alaskan engineering community, Nick is Co-Chair of the UAA Civil Engineering Department Advisory Board and a Board Member of the Structural Engineering Association of Alaska.


Mechanical EIT Elan Edgerly joined CRW in November 2017. A Kodiak native with 4 years of engineering experience, he earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University. He also holds a M.S. in Civil Engineering from UAA, with a thesis focused on hydrokinetic energy using turbines in the Tanana River. 


Marit Hartvigson, a Revit Designer/Technician, joined CRW’s Structural Group in November 2017. She began her education in Civil Engineering, but found her true passion as a technician. She brings 10 years of experience to her design work. A longtime Alaskan, she worked on projects such as the Dena’ina Wellness Center, the new Alaska Airlines Hangar in Anchorage, and the Eielson Air Force Base F-35A Six-Bay Flight Simulator.   


CRW’s Structural Engineering Group grew with the addition of Vincent Valenti, EIT. A longtime Alaskan from Fairbanks with two years of structural experience, he graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering from UAF. While at UAF Vincent worked on a concrete parking garage as a senior design project, and was a member of the ASCE Concrete Canoe team. After completing a thesis analyzing sea ice parameters in the Beaufort and Chukchi Seas, he earned a M.S. in Civil Engineering from UAA. Prior to CRW, he worked on several structural projects including the new Alaska Airlines Hangar in Anchorage, the Fort Wainwright Drone Hangar, and the Manokotak Community Center.
