CRW worked with Village Safe Water and the City of Gambell to complete upgrades to the City’s water and sewer system. Project upgrades include lift station improvements; a new welded steel 1.3 million gallon water storage tank (WST), and water treatment plant improvements. Originally, in accord with the scope of the project CRW’s electrical design included upgrading all of the controls and alarms plant wide and implementing communications via SCADA to the community’s remote water source. Construction budget constraints required CRW’s electrical engineers to perform value engineering to eliminate much of the functions required by the intended SCADA design, however, the basic core capabilities of the new system were retained to allow construction under the new budget constraints. In addition, the design included provisions for a future standby generator.
